Maeve McTaggart: TDs shy away from migration hot potato in social media debates ahead of elections
Sinn Féin, Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil least likely to engage on divisive issue

Almost 60pc of government TDs have not addressed issues of immigration or asylum on social media in the last six months, with Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and Sinn Féin TDs least likely to tackle the issue on X.
This is despite rising tensions, arson attacks on buildings earmarked for asylum accommodation and opposition politicians criticising the current approach to the migrant crisis as “abhorrent” and “shambolic”.
