Decks and displays all the rage for the Belters Only concert

From bedroom beats and house parties to a sold-out 3Arena and residency in Ibiza, Irish electronic duo Belters Only landed in Cork to show the city where they got their name from.

The acclaimed Dublin dance duo, comprised of DJs Robbie G and Bisset, have come a long way in recent years,  and were one of many electronic acts to play Cork this summer — following stellar performances from Belfast pair Bicep and techno artist, Blk.

With the success of the duo’s debut single ‘Make Me Feel Good,” which has racked up an impressive 108 million streams, Belters Only brought their decks and audiovisual displays to Virgin Media Park for a one-of-a-kind musical celebration.

As a sea of veteran ravers descended onto Tramore Rd, the stadium gates filled with an eccentric crowd, with neon colours setting the theme for the dress code.

Like-minded musical partners Robbie G and Bisset were joined by the one and only, British DJ Jax Jones, whose incredible portfolio of instantly recognisable club bangers includes features from Raye, Charli XCX, and Demi Lovato.

Belters Only’s rapid ascent into the mainstream was reflected in the crowd, largely comprised of a younger demographic.

Robbie, a producer before becoming a DJ, started making music for himself when he was 16, while Bissett had been signed as a solo act before the covid pandemic hit.

That all changed when the pair met and started playing a ‘Belters Only’ club night in Dublin.

When the pandemic forced live music events into a hiatus, the duo decided to work together from Bisset’s newly renovated home studio — leading Belters Only to quickly become a staple of the Irish electronic scene.

Following opening sets from E.T.C, b2b, and Jamie Ennis, Jax Jones took to the stage with a killer set to get the crowd going.

As an evening of adrenaline-pumping performances from the openers ended, it was then time for the men of the hour to take to the stage.

Following stellar back-to-back warm-ups, the main acts drew all ticket holders to the front of the stadium.

Virgin Media Park was quickly electrified and united in its excitement to bear witness.

A spellbinding pyrotechnics display kicked off the duo’s set, complimented by colourful visuals and smoke effects.

A set comprised of fan favourites and new releases offered something for everyone, with even those in the stands immune from sitting still.

The all-killer set from the much-loved duo made this gig a standout in this year’s Virgin Media Park lineup.

As the crowd disembarked, the party continued on the walk home with anticipation for their return already palpable.
