Ambitious plans to revamp five Cork city centre buildings unveiled
Plans to revamp five city centre buildings in Cork have been unveiled.
An ambitious project proposes a series of changes to numbers 10, 11, 12, and 13 Castle Street, as well as 7 South Main Street.
Holren Properties Limited has lodged a planning application to Cork City Council seeking permission for the works.
The project involves the change of use of the ground floor of numbers 11 and 12 Castle Street from retail use to betting use.
There is also a plan to demolish the ground floor internal walls between 10, 11, 12, and 13 Castle Street, and proposals to change signage on the building.
The first and second floors of 9a to 13 Castle Street, and 1 to 7 South Main Street are also all to be changed from storage use to residential use.
These will comprise six one-bed apartments, one studio apartment, and three apartments with a mezzanine.
All works are subject to permission and are located in a Protected Structure.
Elsewhere in Cork, planning has been granted to a developer seeking to turn commercial units in Ballincollig into residential use.
Zokralo Limited has been granted permission by Cork City Council to change the use of unit 8 in the Parade, the Quadrants into residential use.
The permission also covers the ground and first floors of units 1, 3 and 5 of the Quadrants.
The development will see the creation of 12 apartments in total, ranging in size from studios to a three-bed unit.
Private amenity areas are also set to be created.
