Brentford quickly get over Toney exit as Mbeumo leads 3-0 win over Southampton

AARON RAMSDALE endured a painful Southampton debut as Bryan Mbeumo showed there’s life after Ivan Toney for Brentford.

Ramsdale has gone from back-up keeper with Arsenal to backache with the Saints – as the visitors paid for dreadful defending.

Bees striker Mbeumo fired a goal in each half before Yoane Wissa bundled the home side 3-0 up.

Southampton’s woe was deeped by trying – and often failing – to play out from the back.

And that was the prime reason Mbeumo was eventually able to stab the opener on 42 minutes after Kevin Schade hit a post.

The Cameroonian then rifled an even better finish – following an even worse blunder from the Saints – midway through the second period.

Wissa soon prodded the third from close range after Ramsdale couldn’t reach a flick-on.

Yukinari Sugawara bagged the Saints’ reply deep in stoppage time.

Victory put Brentford in the top five – while Southampton sit bottom as the only Prem side without a point from three matches.
