Hurzeler, 31, will arrive at the Amez Stadium as Roberto De Zerbi’s replacement.

The Italian coach left the South Coast at the end of the season.

He would become the youngest permanent manager in Premier League history.

Attilio Lombardo holds the current record having taken charge at 32, while Ryan Mason held a caretaker role for Tottenham at 28.

The Athletic have claimed that the Seagulls have been successful in their application for Hurzeler to get a work permit.

The report also states that the club are now in talks with Bundesliga outfit FC St Pauli to find an agreement to hire the manager.

Hurzeler joined the German club as an assistant in December 2022.

He was quickly made interim and then permanent head coach having steered them away from relegation to the third tier.
