Extra flights

This comes after Ryanair announced extra flights to top holiday locations this weekend as a major Aer Lingus strike gets underway.

Aer Lingus has cancelled hundreds of flights as pilots take to the picket lines in a row over pay.

And Ryanair have said that they will have extra Dublin flights to and from London, Faro and Malaga in a boost to holidaymakers looking to still get away.

The airline announced that the added flights will be for Saturday, June 29 and Sunday, June 30.

In a statement, Ryanair’s Chief Marketing Officer Dara Brady said that they have not increased the cost of fares in response to the strikes.

No fare increase

He said: “We decided last week not to increase air fares in response to the Aer Lingus pilot strikes.

“We are pleased to be able to add these extra flights to London, Malaga and Faro next weekend using one of our spare aircraft.”

There will now be two additional return flights to and from London, and one additional return flight to and from Malaga and Faro.

Fares on the flights to London Stansted start at €270 one way, fares on the Malaga flights start at €330 one way and fares on the Faro flights start at €340 one way.

Given the extraordinary demand, these flights are set to sell out quick so passengers must act fast.
