Why was Piers Morgan on the Lorraine Show?
Netflix’s Baby Reindeer has been a hot topic of conversation, ever since it dropped in April 2024.
The real-life drama is inspired by the ordeal suffered by Scots comedian and leading man Richard Gadd.
In Baby Reindeer, his character goes by the name of Donny and viewers watched as he was relentlessly stalked by woman called Martha.
As the series was based on Richard’s harrowing true story, internet sleuths immediately leapt into action to try and work out who the REAL Martha was.
Once the armchair detectives had claimed that the Baby Reindeer character was based on Scottish law graduate Fiona Harvey, top presenter Piers Morgan offered her the chance to have her say.
The explosive interview on his Uncensored YouTube channel aired on May 9, 2024 and was watched by 11 million people.
In the interview, Fiona admitted to know Gadd but denied sending him thousands of emails.
Piers then appeared on ITV’s Lorraine where he discussed the bombshell interview in-depth.
Speaking to host Lorraine Kelly, he said: “She [Fiona] has a right to have her say and was happy to come on the show, I tried to be very fair and balanced and tried to get to the truth.
“I think she lied in the interview but is she a convicted stalker?
“The key point is, if she isn’t, then the Netflix claim at the start of every episode saying ‘this is a true story’ becomes problematic.”
Piers went on: “Have they [Netflix] defamed her? If you accuse someone of being a convicted stalker and they are not, that is a pretty serious claim to make.
I have interviewed serial killers, psychopaths – I have interviewed people who have done really terrible things and Fiona is not one of those.

“I think they’ve got problems here because she clearly is determined to have her day in court with Netflix.”
Breaking down what it was like to interview Fiona, Piers said: “I have interviewed serial killers, psychopaths – I have interviewed people who have done really terrible things and she is not one of those.
“I have had far scarier environments by where I have interviewed people.
Comic Richard Gadd has previously claimed he went to great lengths to conceal the identity of the woman who stalked him in real life.
He even went as far as to beg fans not to search for the real Martha.
